Christmas 2009

Thank you everyone for a great Christmas! Cale has LOVED every minute of it. He tells us his favorite things are his construction hat, Mador truck, and microphone. He has also said everyone of the last three nights, "This is the best day / night ever!" He has also really liked playing with all of his cousins and eating such "yummy treats". He has already played with everything at least once. The next step is to learn to skate on his new skates. Stay tuned for that adventure!

Recital

Christmas recital and photo with Santa

Cale's first recital was a hit! His "Music for Young Children" class had a recital today and Cale sang, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Christmas is Here". See above for the whole performance. Way to go Cale, you did great!!!

Cale told Santa he wants a yellow crane for Christmas. He was also very polite to tell Santa, "You have a Merry Christmas too Santa!" His cousin Rohan was equally polite and specific about what he wants for Christmas.

Before and after pictures of a very long day. Other than being pretty sore, he is the same old Cale!

Happy recovery Cale!

Training Camp

Thanks to everyone who has been helping me out,
I'm getting the hang of this so,
I either go all by myself,
or tell someone when I have to go.
I have my new big boy underwear,
and I mostly keep them dry,
I'm so proud that I can do it,
so to those diapers bye bye!

Tour Guide for Our Guests

Grandpa's 70th Birthday

Congratulations on turning 70 David! For those of you who weren't there with us, the theme of America's Got Talent was used for a skit about all the amazing things David does. This was the video we used to describe his life a la America's Got Talent biography clip. We then went on to watch him perform some of his talents live for us. When he was crowned the winner of the show, we changed the name to Grandpa's got talent.

More Summer Fun

Here I am trying on some of the items we sold at our garage sale. Sorry uncle Kris, I'm not big enough yet to take this gear off your hands.
Here I am playing a dress up and guess game with my cousins. I'll give you one guess which one is me!
And here I am at Chuck E. Cheese for Sam's birthday. I'm glad everyone seems to like to have their birthday with Chuck E!
Now it is off to Iowa...

Catching Up

So, let me catch you up on what I've been up to this past month. I'm loving being outside and going to the park. Here's me feeding the geese. I got to see and feed some new baby geese too! Oh, and here's me helping our friend Rob build our new deck. He said I was a big help but I liked his noisier hammer better than mine. But, since the weather hasn't always cooperated, here's me hanging out in the basement with my cousins, playing hockey (like all good Canadian's still do in June!), and showing off my ABC song. I'm thinking that new deck looks a lot like a stage. Maybe I will combine my handy skills with my singing skills!

Oh I see, that's what we do in spring time!

Ok, so it doesn't look like spring time in either of these pictures, but it doesn't feel like it either! However, I am told that in the spring the birds come back, the leaves grow back on the trees, and that it will get warm outside so I can play in the back yard. While I do love playing baseball, helping grandma and grandpa in the garden, and riding my bike, I wish it was a little nicer out.

I thought you might want to see some of the things I can do on my own now. I built that tower all on my own and I'm starting to be able to ride that tricycle too.

Inside or outside I do love to pose for pictures!

What, I'm still only two? Could have fooled... everyone!

Hi, it's been a while since I've posted anything so I thought I would tell you about all my big boy stuff! In my pictures you can see me learning to use the potty, helping dad (I call him Jay now that I'm so mature) make pizza, and taking a relaxing bubble bath in my very deep tub!

Want to know what else I'm up to? Well...
- When I meet people I say, "Hi, I'm Cale Morrison Fladager, I'm two and I live on Ryan Road Street in Regina, Saskatchewan". That shocks the average person in the grocery store!
- I look at a cloud and exclaim, "There's an elephant!"
- I tell stories about Christmas, spring time, and a magic blue shovel. I mostly like to tell these stories under tunnels (covers) and under the table. Seems like a good story telling setting to me!
- I tell mom and dad, "You're my best friend" and hug them and say' "We're all together" (that really gets them!)
- I make up my own songs like "I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm turning blue, and I don't know what to do". I get more applause when I sing songs while playing my drum, piano or guitar at the same time!
- Oh, and I taught the church children's choir a song called "Stand Up, Sit Down"
- I also say some very grown up things like "Nice to meet you", "Grandma has a cough, which is very bad", and "For goodness snakes, whatever can it be".
- I love using descriptive words like, horrible, miserable, squishy, fluffy, gorgeous,wonderful...
- And every once in a while, I get mad at people and say things like, "Turn your head, stop the music, no talking, no singing, no whistling, no looking at me... I'm mad at you"
- And I can be a bit of an imp, I like to hide dad's clothes when he's in the shower, mix up the words to two or three songs just to get a laugh, and yell as loud as I can pretending to be the alarm and say "WAKE UP DADDY!"

Yes, growing up is sooooo much fun! See you all on Easter Sunday with the next installment of the great egg hunt!

First Official Haircut

It took two years to need one, but I got my first official haircut yesterday. I sat very still and let Charita use both the scissors and the razor. I'm so brave! I wonder what that tear in mom and dad's eyes were about?

Singing Christmas Carols

Yes, Cale has come up with his own ending to Away in a Manger. "The stars in the bright sky live down the street, heaven lives down the street". We want you to know that the microphone was all Cale's idea. Woot, he is a performer! He even claps for himself and says,"great song about" to congratulate himself. Hong Kong karaoke here we come!
