Greetings from Iowa!

I'm an international traveller already. I thought that I would really behave myself for my mom and grandma even though it was a loooooong car ride. Mom kept telling me that I would meet some really great people when we finally got to Iowa. I am having lots of fun playing with my Aunt Kayleen and Uncle Donald and have loved meeting my BIG cousins David and Matthew. Today I got to spend time with my Great Grandma at the cabin on the Mississippi river (wow that's a long word to spell).

I really miss my dad a lot and can't wait to give him lots of hugs and kisses when we get home.

Hugs and kisses to you all back home in Regina!

Lonely Already!

My mom and Grandma K. are taking me on a road trip tomorrow to see great-grandma T. in Iowa. It's a long car ride they say but it will be worth it to see her and also meet Kayleen, Donald, David and Matthew for the first time too!

I have promised my dad that I won't grow up too much while I'm gone. I think he misses us already!

Thanks Grade 7's

Radical tie-dye dudes! Thanks to Qing Qing and Bow, two of dad's students, who made me these outfits! You rock!

Peace out!

3 Month Picture

Three Month Update:

I'm now 58 cm long and weigh a modest 10 lbs 8 oz.

My favourite things: going for walks in my stroller, talking, smiling and laughing, talking, playing on my playmat and in my activity chair, talking, listening to stories and music, talking, watching "Happy Feet" and talking (don't forget who's child this is afterall!).

I'm learning to: hold my head up on my own, reach out for and play with things on my playmat and in my chair.

Things I'm still not sure about: sleeping in my crib!

Am I Not Cute Enough or What?

Come On... Ya Know Ya Wanna!

After all these weeks of blogging, I'm wondering why most of you don't comment back? I know mom and dad would love to hear from you so here's how for those of you who are just not sure.
Click on "Comment" which is in the bottom right hand corner of each blog entry (see below). A window will come up with a message box. You can type away in there. Feel free to be wordy! Sign your name under your entry in the same box you were just typing in so we know who's writing to us and who's not (hint hint). Then click "Anonymous" to avoid the whole logging in / password thing. Then click "publish your comment". You're done and everyone's happy!

Looking forward to hearing from ALL of you!!!

Remember Dollie?

For those of you who remember Dollie, the following similarities between Cale and Dollie will come as no surprise to you. Kira and I had fun coming up with this list, the comparision is quite true. We always said that Dollie did a good job of preparing us for children!

Dollie and Cale are similar because:
10) When they finally fall asleep, you tip toe around them so not to wake them up.
9) 10 lbs each... no fat on these two.
8) They can both sleep through loud noises like buzzers, whistles, horns and music... but the sound of a paper bag wakes them right up!
7) Watch where you step... both leave behind pools of "spit up".
6) They go to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times.
5) Both can hold long conversations with you where neither side really knows what the other is trying to say.
4) Clockwork timing - Cale is always fussy at 7:00 pm (exactly) and always wakes up at 6:00 am (exactly). Dollie was the clockwork queen and always had a very "regular" schedule.
3) Both like being held, but neither really likes to be hugged and they try to squirm away.
2) Both have super cute booties!
1) And with both, we have never loved anything as much... yet been so frustrated at the same time!

Feel free to add your suggestions in the comment section!

Birthday Fun!

Thanks to everyone for making my birthday special! I got two scrapbooks made for me, one by my staff (mostly by Wendy) and one by Lisa. I will cherish these items! I was also given a number of gifts to remind me of my youth... and the fact that it is over!

Mom made me my special cake again this year. I think I got the hint that this would be my last one since these blocks seem to bridge the gap between my last cake and Cale's first next year. I guess this is a sacrifice I can make for him!

I did get some toys (like a telescope) so that Cale and I can play together. Looks like I still won't have to grow up any time soon!
