Portland, it felt like home! We either need to move there or bring a lot of what we saw here! Highlights were the Saturday Market, Powell's Books, The Decemberists concert in Edgefield, Alberta Street artisan shops, Voodoo Doughnut, vintage toy shopping, the Northrup Station converted warehouse hotel and of course, the Tiny House Caravan (see video below)! You could also really turn into a foodie there with all the locally grown food, small pubs and bistros and craft beer. Portland inspired us to come home and use our creativity more. Too bad it's a 19 hour drive back, or we'd probably already be there!

Road Trip - Seattle, Washington
We loved showing Cale all of the great things we remember from visiting Seattle years ago. What a great way to celebrate our 15th anniversary! The Experience Music Project (EMP), Space Needle, first Starbucks, Pike's Market, downtown and the Aquarium were all a total blast! We were lucky enough to see special exhibits at the EMP on Star Wars costumes, science fiction movies and fantasy films. Cale found the swords from the Hobbit, Kira found the costumes from the Princess Bride and Jay loved the music history and sound labs.
Road Trip - Jasper, Alberta
We had beautiful weather for our Jasper National Park experience. We saw bear, mountain goats, deer, elk and more. We enjoyed paddle boating, a picnic, a short hike, time on the beach and shopping around town.
Kyle and Hailey - July 4, 2015
Kyle and Hailey were married in Drayton Valley, Alberta on July 4th. It was a memorable and beautiful wedding outside at Hailey's family farm. Kira's dad performed the ceremony as he has done for most of his children and grandchildren. A storm briefly delayed the ceremony but did not affect the personal and relaxed atmosphere as the couple exchanged their vows.

I Heart NYC!
What a FANTASTIC trip we had to New York City! We stayed in the Crowne Plaza, above the Hersey's Store in Times Square. We had a great view from our corner room looking down the street to where the New Year's ball drops. We took in some outstanding Broadway shows: The Lion King, Stomp and Matilda. We also got to a Rangers vs Canucks game at Madison Square Garden. We saw sights like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Rockefeller Center. We were thrilled to see some of the most famous stores in the world like Macy's as well as all the high end shopping on 5th Avenue and 34th Street. Cale loved the three story Toys R Us as well as the M&Ms Store and FAO Schwartz. Even the little things like the cab, the ferry rides, the subway and street vendors were exciting to experience. It was VERY cold though. The record cold even froze over the harbor. It made standing outside a challenge, but it was worth it for Ellen's Stardust Diner and the Broadway shows. We also loved the Museum of Modern Art and all the little pubs and cafes. If only we could have stayed.... We'll get back someday!!
